Ben Fogle: Man must use technology for the good of animals

Back to News + Views

Great work by our Nature2030 campaign to mark #WorldAnimalDay, looking at the need to innovate our thinking and use technology to better protect animals in the 2020s and beyond.

In Africa, due to high-powered weaponry, an elephant is slaughtered every 25 minutes for it’s tusks.

In May this year an investigation by animal rights organisation, Lady Freethinker, revealed that more than 160,000 global Facebook users are following pages set up to promote dogfighting.

“Technology is so often put to use to the detriment of animals. But it doesn’t have to be this way. It’s high time we went all out to innovate for a better world for our most precious species,” Ben Fogle, Chair of Nature2030
