Purpose-led communications agency Higginson Strategy has appointed circular economy expert Paul Foulkes-Arellano as a Non-Executive Director.
Paul joins Higginson Strategy with more than thirty years of experience in strategic consultancy specialising in circular innovation and sustainability.
As founder of Circuthon, Paul advises global brands and innovative start-ups, spearheading numerous high-impact initiatives including regenerative agriculture programmes, plastic-free packaging innovations, and sustainable material development.
Paul’s particular focus is on next generation fibres, biomaterials and novel material development, running two non-profit initiatives: The Circular Footwear Initiative and The Circular Fashion Initiative.
He previously worked for Higginson Strategy client A Plastic Planet and former client Recipe Design.
He also serves on the Design Council’s Expert Panel and is the Non-Executive Director at Sparxell, a cellulosic pigments specialist developing the next generation of colours and effects.
The circular economy expert joins Higginson Strategy to advise on the expansion of Higginson’s purpose-driven portfolio of clients.
Founded in 2017 by former political journalists John and Clodagh Higginson, Higginson Strategy is a certified B Corp based in London with 20 employees.
Having built a reputation for fighting plastic pollution, and fighting for women’s rights, Higginson Strategy now has a global client base across a wide range of charities, NGOs, educational institutions and purpose-driven businesses.
Paul Foulkes-Arellano said:
“I am delighted to join Higginson Strategy. The agency’s commitment to purpose-driven communications aligns perfectly with my focus on circular innovation.
“After three decades working with businesses across the globe, I’ve seen firsthand how effective communication can accelerate change. I’m particularly excited to bring my expertise in circular design, sustainable materials, and regenerative business models to Higginson’s diverse client portfolio.
“Together, we can help organisations not just communicate their sustainability journey, but fundamentally reimagine their relationship with our planet’s resources.”
John Higginson, co-founder and CEO of Higginson Strategy, said:
“I have worked with Paul for a number of years in two different client organisations. He is a first-class marketer and business development specialist for agencies, and I am delighted to have him supporting Higginson Strategy.
“While Higginson Strategy has a strong reputation for delivering high quality work for clients we are not as good at some areas of the sales and business development process as we could be. Paul has been brought in to help us improve those areas.”
