Happy International Happiness Day from Higginson Strategy!
We all need a bit of positivity this year. As we face a global crisis together, let’s find positive ways to look after ourselves and each other. We really believe that the world is a better place when we connect with and care about the people around us.
We asked each member of the team at Higginson for something that made them smile this year.
John Higginson, Partner
“Seeing a wild King Fisher for the first time.
I have always wanted to see a bright blue king fisher in the wild. Over the past year we have all been spending more time outdoors in our local neighbourhoods. It was such a thrill to see this amazing bird that represents a clean river when out for an early morning run in London.”
Alex Pegler, Senior Account Manager
“Ronnie O’Sullivan winning the world championship.”
Liz Gyekye, Head of Research
“Taking walks near rivers and parks and creating my favourite restaurant dishes at home.”
Stephen Dillon, Account Manager
“Tony Soprano.”
Esme Parkins, Account Manager
“During the first lockdown, there was a family of goslings living in the canal next to my flat.
It was two separate families that somehow merged into one – I watched 20 goslings grow up and it was lovely because I had the time to appreciate them.”
Jacob Metcalf, Senior Account Executive
“The thing that’s brought me happiness is getting back into training again. When we started lockdown, I hadn’t been for a run for years…and it showed. But, with working from home and the commute eliminated, I picked it back up.
Fortunately I live in running distance of Thurstaston Common, a luscious woodland sitting on a bed of sandstone. Challenging, yet beautiful, it made the running so much easier.
The best thing about it, you get that Rocky running up the steps moment as you reach the top which looks over the city of Liverpool, the Dee Estuary, and Wales.”
Charlotte Radcliffe, Senior Account Executive
“Having more time to cook and try new recipes out!”
Polly De Burgh Marsh, Account Executive
“Learning to play poker – (badly) some of the financial loses have not been so positive!”
Isla Tweed, Account Executive
“My family got a new puppy – being sent a new picture brightens my day.”
Bella Shorrock, Social Media Manager
“Long walks and podcasts!”
