Nicola Matthews – UKI Head of Marketing, Tony’s Chocolonely

Back to News + Views

It’s my pleasure to share with you the latest episode of the Communicating Purpose podcast, with Nicola Matthews, UKI Head of Marketing at Tony’s Chocolonely.

The self-described ‘Countess of Cocoa’ is responsible for developing the Tony’s brand across UK and Ireland, making sure that it reflects not just their delicious product, but also the social mission at the heart of it.

Tony’s has made it its goal to end slavery across the entire cocoa industry.

In our discussion, we covered:

🍫The life changing moment that showed Nicola she needed purpose in her work

🍫Why despite it’s campaigning work Tony’s is unable to promise it’s chocolate is child and slave labour free

🍫 The bold reasoning why Tony’s bars don’t use the conventional chocolate grid pattern

I hope you enjoy.
